Update:
At the beginning of this year we received first-hand information from several vocalists who usually worked with the platform and they confirmed that the direction of the company has changed and that they themselves are very surprised but it seems that the new management have taken very seriously the website business and take it to the next level. The first step has been to pay all the debts they had contracted with many vocalists who had not seen any money from their sales through the website in question for months. This is positive news. We have generally had a very good experience with this page in the past before the payment problems began. We have also learned that they are investing very seriously to convert the web into one of the largest service sales portals for producers. For example, in the coming months they want to start selling instrumental tracks, etc. from here we wish you the best in this new stage. As a producer you no longer have an excuse not to use vokaal.com
Old Article:
A few days ago we received a very interesting email from one of the vocalists we have worked with in the past. In short, it seems that this person and other renowned vocalists have not received a penny from the Vokaal.com website for months. This website has even been recommended by us in the past. That makes us sad. For those who do not know about the subject, many vocalists (even very famous ones) usually provide their works on different online platforms so that music producers or record labels can acquire them in a easy way. There are usually different license models, conditions etc (we will discuss them on another occasion). These websites sell, so to speak, the services of the vocalists and then pay (removing something for the service from their website) to the vocalists. It is actually a very good system especially for vocalists and independent music producers who can thus access a market of very good quality vocals at reduced prices. From here it has seemed correct to denounce this type of scam, since it cannot be said otherwise. Producers like us pay these websites for their services and it seems very bad to us that later they basically “steal” the money and do not give their part to the vocalists who in the end are the ones who do most of the work. We leave you below a fragment of the original email (removing the original names for privacy).
Please if you are reading this, do not buy any more vocals from the Vokaal.com site until the facts have been clarified. We can recommend other similar ones where you will even find the same vocalists, such as: Vocalfy or Voclio. We will keep you informed as the matter develops.
Hello,
My name is …. You all know me as “…”.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for purchasing my vocals over the last two years. Unfortunately, Vokaal.com has not paid any of us singers in months. The owner of the website has been stealing thousands of dollars from nearly every singer on the site. We have reached out countless times asking for our vocals to be removed, but he still fails to respond. Meanwhile, our vocals are still up on the website as he continues to profit off of our products while pocketing all of the money for himself.
As of today, we have officially started the process of taking legal action against Vokaal.com. I am reaching out to you to ask you to stop purchasing from this website. From now on, I will be selling both exclusive and non-exclusive vocals on these two certified websites:
If you need anything or have any questions, please feel free to reach out and ask! And please, if you would like to make any purchases, use one of these websites or reach out to me directly. Thank you so much for your support through this very difficult time.
Best…
