Where to find incredible vocals for your music productions in a budget

One of the tasks that can most depress a new music producer who has recently started producing and publishing their own songs is finding quality legal acapellas/vocals that can be used without any commercial issues in own productions. It is clear that if you have a good voice and are good at writing lyrics, you can do it all yourself for practically zero price (except for some plugins for recording and subsequent correction in your DAW), but we know from experience that a good music producer in general does not have to write good lyrics, much less be able to sing well. Hiring a professional singer is only an option if you have at least a medium budget to spend, as the price can start around $ 1000 upwards depending on how well known the vocalist is.

Today we want to present you a series of options for those with a low budget. You should not underestimate this aspect of a song (being able to use quality voices in your productions). From our point of view, an instrumental song will almost always lose out to another with good lyrics to remember.

1) Splice: The cheapest option you can find is to subscribe to Splice, if you want to go the safe way that everything you use can be used safely. It is one of the platforms most used by all professionals, not only for samples of any instrument or effect, but also for acapellas and high-quality voice recordings created even by very famous vocalists who usually work for other great producers. One of the biggest disadvantages you will have is that many end up using the same recordings, so don’t be surprised if you find 10 other commercial songs that use them. You also can’t use the singer’s featuring in your own song, unless you get written permission. You’ll find here shorter samples or verses, drops but it’s difficult to find a complete song. For that are better the next options.

2) Vocalizr: An Australian platform that works quite well is Vocalizr. Here you can upload your instrumental song or a demo of it and open an offer to find a vocalist/lyrics for it offering a maximum price that you would be willing to pay. Interested vocalists/compositors upload their proposals and you can choose one, the contract, payment and delivery of the work is guaranteed by the platform. And from our experience you can find interesting collaborations around $ 100. The advantage in this case is that it is usually an exclusive lyrics/vocal recording for you and you can always focus or modify the result until you are satisfied with the work of the vocalist. If you’re not searching a custom vocal, the next options are better for you.

3) Soundbetter: Very similar to the Vocalizr concept but under the Spotify matrix. Although it is an ideal place to find high-quality professionals, the price compared to Vocalizr rises from a minimum of $ 300. Not only does it specialize in singers, you can find sound engineers, mastering, instrumentalists etc. If you feel blocked with any of your latest songs, maybe you will find the solution here. It is also the ideal platform if you want exclusive content and are interested in featuring a famous vocalist to help you increase your own audience.

4) Vokaal: It’s actually our favorite at the moment on the list (although we usually use all the other channels as well depending on the case). It’s a platform that has been launched or at least powered by singer-songwriter OMZ (Bodhi Jones). A very talented Canadian guy with an incredible voice. We knew him for having collaborated on some of the first songs by Roberto Marín Muñoz. Although in the industry he is already well known because he has published and is the voice of innumerable top charts under a multitude of record companies (Armada, Revealed, Spinnin …) He launched the website as a platform to sell pre-recordings of his own lyrics and acapellas. However, over time he has added many collaborators and on his website you can find exclusive recordings right now (only one can buy them) around $ 300, non-exclusive recordings for about $ 30 and even covers of famous songs. You can also of course hire a singer for your own individual project. If you want to try something from their website, don’t hesitate to use our discount link here.

5) Vocalfy : All of their vocalists and vocal-tracks are verified and must meet their high quality standards regarding skill, lyrics & recording quality. Your new song can be released worldwide. Their contracts are easy to understand without any sketchy clauses. Pricing very good. Similar to Vokaal but with quite interesting prices. Sometimes you can find here quite interesting and high quality vocals that are not found in any other platform.

6) HiVocals: Similar to Vocalfy. Prices are good. Perhaps a bit more difficult to navigate or search from our point of view. But at the end a very good and serious option to find and buy vocals for your productions.

7) Voclio: Very similar to HiVocals and Vocalfy. Some interesting high quality vocals with good prices. A bit more reduced offer than the other options. Difficult to search if you want to use filters or find a specific favorite artist. But of course make sense to compare with the others. Sometimes they offer limited time/download non exclusive vocals that can’t be found on other platforms.
